Now I have moved from the city centre a whole load of new chip shops have come to my attention.....enter....Petes Pan.
I am a big fan of a local chippy and this one has everything you could want. Friendly and welcoming v ibe, fresh and tasty food and most importantly of all....good saveloys.....really good actually!
Recently voted best chippy in Brum by Biringham mail this ones worth a little treck even if you live a small drive away. The only thing I would say is check the opening hours. Unlike places in the CC places in the subburbs seem to open when they like! So strange! Good job they are busy when they do decide to open! -

Not the greatest chippy. The salad in the mixed chicken and chips consists of loads of cabbage. They use low quality ingredients and it's not worth the money.

Voted best chip ship in Birmingham apparently and I would agree. Fantastic quality and friendly service. I soul consider myself a regular

Pete's Pan is one of the quickest serving fish & chip shops I've ever come across. The portions of food are also great value for money and I've never been let down with the taste or price.
I also find this place highly entertaining, as Pete's number of staff seems to grow and grow each time I go in. The staff fight amongst themselves for your service and all share a role in preparing your grub, from dishing out the chips, to dishing out the fish, to pouring salt and vinegar on, to wrapping up the food to collecting your money. Surely one staff member could do all that themselves? Although I'm not complaining, as I find the whole process highly entertaining while I'm waiting for my own fish & chips to be cooked. Especially when they begin to bicker in pantomime style. I'm not sure which one is Pete though, as the staff tend to be all female....... -

Pete's Pan caught my eye when I was driving past because of its quirky name. It's a clever way to make a chippy memorable, regardless of what the food tastes like!
It tends to get very busy during the school run with students from Swanshurst School, so you're better off avoiding the queues and going at another time.
The chips are pretty good, although I've tasted better. They're not as crunchy or chunky as I prefer, but then everyone has their own perception of good chips. So you may love them!
The prices are reasonable and as you would expect from a chip shop. I would recommend you try their fish, which is delicious with thick, crispy batter! It's mouth-watering to even think about!
The chippy is located on a corner. The best place to park is Trittiford Road.
